Just one sports membership and you’ll have access to play around at hundreds of the best gyms and studios in your city. OneFit is more than just an app; it’s a whole new concept created by Serge Brabander and Camille Richardson that has recently landed in Barcelona and now, also in Madrid. It is the revolution within sports leisure aimed at those people who live sports as a way of life and do not want to limit themselves to practising just one discipline at just one place.
Innovate the world of sports because they believe you can live life to the fullest and maintain a healthy lifestyle. And we come here to ensure that. It was back in 2013 that OneFit was founded in The Netherlands by Serge Brabander and Camille Richardson who, curiously, met at a trip to Barcelona organized by the company where Serge was CEO at the time. Camille is a professional basketball player and sports have always played a huge role in his life. Serge has a huge passion for running and after founding OneFit, his passion even increased further passed just running.

“The idea of starting OneFit came to us when we realized that many people give up on fitness three months after signing up for a gym membership and then being stuck on a long-term subscription. We wanted to create a flexible solution and, even more importantly, make fitness more fun and therefore, easier to persist”, say the entrepreneurs.

One could say that OneFit is the most flexible way of experiencing sports, helping people commit to working out for the longer term by providing lots of options per week, which keeps them motivated and inspired. Your OneFit app is your passport to all locations and to discover your new favourite classes. Try indoor climbing, dancing or boxing in the nearest park or around the corner from your work. You can either search by location, date or workout. Anywhere, anytime. “We want to cover all types of people, and our mission is to make their sport lives a lot easier and more fun to whatever extent”, they explain.

“We strongly believe that working out together is an important element on keeping people motivated. And from a product perspective, we have a strong focus on the social elements of working out”, continue Camille. You can easily invite your friends to your favourite classes through the app or simply pause your membership during the holidays.

To explore, have fun and, above all, have a quality sports experience is the motto of the brand, which is currently running in Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Cologne, Hamburg, and now in Barcelona and Madrid as well, where they have 400 centers between both cities. Barcelona was chosen as the first city in which to operate within Spain with the intention to expand throughout the whole country. “We chose to start in Barcelona based on a few key variables that looked extremely good in Barcelona, like size, number of partners, the diversity and the nature of the people who live in the city. The reaction from the public in the city was so positive. And, of course, we will continue working to respond to the needs that users have in the city to make OneFit every day better for them”, the founders tell us.

OneFit is simple to use. You can register on their website and then download the app on your phone. The fixed monthly fee is 59€ for thirty days, and it allows you to do up to two check-ins per day in more than one hundred and fifty gyms and sports centres in the city. “After some iterations, we came to our current membership model where you can combine an enormous amount of activities for a monthly fixed fee”. In addition, as for the launch, the app offers a thirty-day free trial to fully dive into the experience.

It seems as if there is no excuse left so as not to try this ground-breaking app, but moreover, we got the chance to interview three OneFit users in case you were still hesitating. They are photographer and painter Maty Chevrière, actress, singer and poet Isabelle Sacchi, and communication and marketing specialist David Luis Fernández.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what sport meant to you before joining OneFit?
My name is Maty Chevrière, I’m a photographer and painter from the Canary Islands based in Barcelona. My relationship with sports was beautiful and deep until adolescence, as I was competing in rhythmic gymnastics. But then, I abandoned it for many, many years. Until I started going to the gym once I got older, I used to go alone and simply used the machines – quite boring.
OneFit debuted in Barcelona last November. How did your relationship with sport and working out change since using this ground-breaking app?
It radically changed in all senses. With OneFit, I could get up in the morning and in less than ten minutes be in a sports class, with a teacher in every class that guides and teaches you. From 7 am, you can sign up for a class, which is ideal to start well the day before going to work.
What is your favourite aspect of the OneFit membership? And what would you say to convince someone who is considering joining this platform?
The truth is that my favourite aspects are more than one. You have classes and gyms by zones, so you can look at the map and join the class that best suits you depending on where you are. The options are endless, so you never have to put yourself on the waiting list. It motivates you to get out of your comfort zone by trying out sports that you’d have never guessed. You get to meet new people and of different ages. And last but not least, our body generates endorphins with sports. To convince someone, I would say that summer is almost here and that OneFit has many options of activities on the beach, a luxury of nature.
With a network of more than two hundred gyms, sports centres and even wellness spots all over the city, what are your favourite activities or training sessions? Any recent discovery?
The truth is that it is difficult for me to choose, but I’d say the ballet classes in Eixample, the pilates classes in Poblenou and, of course, the pole dancing classes. Now I'm looking forward to trying summer sports.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what sport meant to you before joining OneFit?
I am a sports addict; I practice several modalities since I was little. I am also a dancer and I love the post-training endorphin feeling. Before discovering OneFit, I was already going to the gym but not with so much motivation. I was bored of the routine of going to the same centre every day.
OneFit debuted in Barcelona last November. How did your relationship with sport and working out change since using this ground-breaking app?
Since I started using OneFit, I work out much more and different modalities. One of the best things has been getting back to practising yoga – I have tried more than ten centres and the experience is incredible.
What is your favourite aspect of the OneFit membership? And what would you say to convince someone who is considering joining this platform?
As I said in the previous question, being able to try different modalities and centres is incredible. I spend the whole day moving around the city so I can choose the centre that is closest and work out every day. For people who consider joining OneFit, all I can say is: try! The comfort and dynamism are amazing. Exercising will never be monotonous or boring again. If you are not a sports addict, you will become one!
With a network of more than two hundred gyms, sports centres and even wellness spots all over the city, what are your favourite activities or training sessions? Any recent discovery?
Probably the yoga classes! I’ve been trying many centres and my favourite is the Hara Yoga Studio. The teachers and practitioners there are incredible.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what sport meant to you before joining OneFit?
I am one of those people who are a bit workaholic, but I am also lucky to have a gym in my workspace, which has made it much easier for me to be able to train every day. However, for me, sport has almost always supposed an effort. OneFit has changed the way I train on a daily basis.
OneFit debuted in Barcelona last November. How did your relationship with sport and working out change since using this ground-breaking app?
I think the biggest change that OneFit implies is the freedom. We know that when you have a gym, a box, or a fixed yoga centre, even if you can gather all the qualities you need to train in conditions, OneFit opens the doors of two hundred centres that you did not know, where the attention to the detail is unique.
What is your favourite aspect of the OneFit membership? And what would you say to convince someone who is considering joining this platform?
The best thing about OneFit for me is that it offers you, besides training in places you did not know and where you feel at home, being able to try new disciplines that you had not discovered. Also, something that I think in a city like Barcelona is important is the fact that it allows you to meet new people in every centre who share a passion with you, training.
With a network of more than two hundred gyms, sports centres and even wellness spots all over the city, what are your favourite activities or training sessions? Any recent discovery?
Without a doubt, my discovery has been climbing. Before OneFit, I had tried it once or twice, but now that I have several centres and with different ways of living it, I can say that I am addicted. On the other hand, the TRX classes at The Studio BCN or the crossfit at Crossfit PobleNou are my favourites.
